And so we begin.....

When we fist saw this house I knew it was special - a once in a lifetime home! 3 years on I can certainly say its special but its not been an easy place to live in!


We moved into our crazy house as a family of five but 2 years after the move our number dropped down to four - me, minimal DIY skills, working full-time and single parent and 3 teenage kids. I was determined my kids should get to stay in their home but had quite a battle to get the mortgage into my name - but now its ours! Triumph! However it quickly became apparent that getting to stay here wasn't enough - we had erratic hot water, a shower room with the mains electrics, no sensible means of cooking and little in the way of heating. The house had to be "teenager" friendly so that was my next challenge!
Its now one year since we started working on the house so (albeit belatedly) I have decided to set up a blog to chart our progress. We've had a busy year.........
